Unlock the art of visual storytelling in this exclusive workshop designed for writers, directors, and producers. Led by industry expert Sara Harrak, the session delves into the director's perspective, offering valuable insights for every storyteller on how to identify and lift pivotal moments off the script and bring them to life on screen with precision and creative flair.

🖋️ For Writers: Understand how directors interpret and transform your words into visuals, enhancing the emotional impact of your narrative. Collaborate effectively with directors to bring your story to life on screen.

🎬 For Directors: Dive into scene analysis, key moment identification, and visual storytelling techniques

💡 For Producers: Gain insights into the creative process of crafting scenes. Understand the director's language to communicate effectively and contribute meaningfully to visual development.

  • Sara Harrak is a British-Moroccan Director. Her short film, F**KED, has aired on Channel 4 and is now on 4OD until November 2024. This is as a result of F**KED winning Best British Short at the Iris Prize 2023. F**KED was also screened at Aesthetica Festival & Leeds Festival - all of which are BAFTA qualifying short film festivals. F**KED was also longlisted for the British Short Film Awards.

    Sara has been in the industry for over 10 years previously working as an Assistant Director. Her credits include Alice in Wonderland for Disney, Downton Abbey, His House & Unforgotten.

    F**KED has been optioned by production company Wild Mercury where it's in early development for a TV series.

    Whilst she is developing other projects, she also shoots music videos for production companies such as Grey Moth.

  • ATTENDANCE
    If you can't attend the event on the day. We’ve got you covered. This workshop will be recorded and available for you always.

    CAPACITY
    We have a limited number of concession tickets available on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you identify as working class, are currently on benefits, or if you consider yourself to be financially disadvantaged in a way that is hindering your progression in your career, these tickets are available to you.

    WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
    Underscore Studios is unfunded and comprised of three volunteers. We believe that upskilling yourself should be affordable, engaging, and transparent. The money towards Workshops such as these means that we can keep them as low as they are, pay our Freelance Workshop leaders, support the organisation to be sustainable, and when we can, make more of our services available for Free.

    We are aware that even the cost of a concession ticket may be a key barrier for many people.
